PSSA Term 2

Girls Soccer

Girls soccer was an amazing experience this term. We got to work on our skills and learn how to play different positions. To help us prepare, we practised on top grass every Monday. We got to work together as a team and help each other. Both of our Stage 2 and 3 teams did an awesome job. We can’t wait to play together again!

Dragon Tag

Every Friday, we all woke up a little earlier than usual. Then once everyone had arrived we were sectioned into lines to represent the sport we were doing for the morning. We all got our names marked off and headed to the bus one by one. There were three stops for the three sports which were; girls soccer and mixed dragon tag for stage 3, and Auskick for boys and girls. Once we got off the bus we got into our teams and had an overall talk about rules and how to play. Regardless of whether you know how to play the sport or not, playing was a really good way to exercise, learn basic teamwork and make new friends. I would definitely recommend PSSA to all children who are thinking about participating next term.

Auskick

Auskick is a great sport because you get some fresh air and exercise. Every Friday for a number of weeks we had PSSA sport. We jumped on a bus at 8.30 am. Our bus took us to Figtree oval. The aim of the game is to get the ball and score. My favourite position in the game is defence because you get to jump in the air and hit the ball away. There are three people in defence, one person guards the middle and the others are on either side. When we arrived at the oval we had fruit break then did some activities like relays, kicking and passing. We then broke into two teams and played two games each week. I learnt lots of great new skills like drop kicks and handball.

Auskick

PSSA Auskick is a great sport. I enjoy kicking the ball and the main idea is to kick the ball in between the long and short posts. My favourite position is defence because I can kick the ball. I love kicking the ball high and far!

Every Friday we got on the bus at 8.30 am. When we got to Figtree oval we had our fruit break. The first couple of weeks we played some activities to learn new skills. Then the last couple of weeks we played two games. WPS were not the champions but we were good sports.
